Did you know there are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market today. Many don’t have any safety data. This is particularly true of those used in the skin care and beauty industry. Do you know what is in your beauty products? Most women would say, not so much.
The beauty and personal care industry is one of the least regulated industries out there. After recently watching the movie, “The Human Experiment,” I am even more deeply moved to be a part of a movement to change this. Our country hasn’t updated the laws regarding the safety of the ingredients in our products since 1938. This is ridiculous. And we deserve better. At Beautycounter, we’re doing something about it.
I learned about Beautycounter just a few short months ago, and what I have learned since is way beyond what I had expected. I learned that not only are we lied to all the time by our government and “big business” about what is in our food and medications, but more so, we are also lied to about what is in our consumable products. I learned about a woman named Gregg Renfrew who realized that there was a great need for safer, high performing products for skincare, body and cosmetics, and created a company that could truly, and transparently deliver.
